    Hi,

The wireless on my Linksys Wireless-G router is causing too much interference to my amateur radio equipment so I was wondering if there was any way to turn it off, and just use it as a wired router?

    Thanks very much!

what is your model? i have the wag200g, the steps should be similar.

    > go to http://192.168.1.1/
    > enter your details. default is admin and admin. (you should change this)
    > click Wireless
    > change the "Wireless Network Mode" dropbox to "Disabled"
    > click "Save Changes"
    > the wireless LED status light on your router should go off.
    > thats it.. if it doesnt go off, try rebooting your router

p.s. why did you get a wireless router if you didnt want to use wireless?... upgrade your radio! ;)

Brilliant. Thanks very much. It worked.

Got the router free. Radio cost me over £500 with another £500 on antenna and other accessories so don't really want to upgrade lol.

    Thanks again.

To go totally off topic, if you are interested, a Yaesu FT-897 all mode tranceiver (so yes FM and AM but for a lot wider range than a normal car radio for example and also CW, SSB and some others) with a vertical HF antenna, and a VHF/UHF antenna. Also soon to get a nice HF Yagi.

    It's all amateur stuff.
