Is there a way to turn on a computer on the network through another computer?

I know I can shutdown a computer on the network in cmd by shutdown command, but is there a way to turn on a network computer by any command? I am guessing not, but just would like to know for sure.

    thanks

I think some motherboards have a wakeonlan feature... you might try googling that to see what you can come up with.
