Is it possible to turn my old Linksys B router into a repeater for my Asus WL500g premium router. For some reason I have a low signal at my bedroom when the router is only about 20ft away.

No, but if you have a WRT54GL you can, by flashing it with various open source firmwares (Tomato, DD-WRT, HyperWRT, etc.).

I think you may be able to but I'll need more info on the router. Such as version and all that then I'll.
I'd recommend the Kamikaze build of OpenWRT everything is through the console but it uses config's rather than NVRAM prolonging the life of your router as NVRam is only good for so may re-writes and every update compleatly re-writes the NVRam chip its on.
Technicaly you should be able to use OpenWRT with a lot of linux routers. Just have to get the right build.
WiP means Work in Progress wait a while and they'll have one. I have my WRT54G set up as a recever and I can reach 4x as far as my Desktop card can! But if I do it that way I have to have the network cable into the PC from the router so repeater would probably be better. -
my model number is BEFW11S4 VER 4

I forgot to post the Table...

Doesn't look like its there yet but hopefully they'll get it in there soon. -
I have the same router. It will never be supported by DDwrt or other 3rd party firmware. But you can set it up as an access point even with the linksys firmware. But it wont work as a repeater. You need to connect the linksys and the asus router via ethernet LAN cable.
Turn my old Linksys B router into a repeater?
