DGL-4500: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...eme+n&lp=3&type=product&cp=1&id=1188561003287
Both are dual-band, both are wireless-N. My new laptop will be dual-band Wireless-N, so these both look good. Both are fairly cheap (about $150) after employee discount since I'm a BestBuy employee. Which one should I get?
Edit: This is for when my old piece-o-crap Belkin dies. Already disconnected me 8 times today.
Edit2: However, I am always open if there are any other suggestions

It would seem that the DGL-4500 has some extra features for gaming, although I don't believe that, but that's one difference I saw.

You might consider what I did instead. Get two cheaper routers. Set one as the main router in "N" only mode, and set up the other in AP Mode as "G" only. (If you already have an existing router, then you're halfway there.) Then have your notebook (and any other N devices) connect via the N router, and the rest to the G Access Point. There you go. Those pesky G devices aren't bringing you down anymore.
Now, the N won't be in the 5 ghz spectrum and will be limited to 130 Mbps, but depending on what N card you have in your laptop getting a true 5 ghz connection at 300 Mbps might be hit and miss anyway.
Just an alternative to consider. -

SmallNetBuilder likes the Linksys better thinks it a better buy. I would read their review.

you might also want to check the router thruput benchmark charts at smallnetbuilder--in my sig
it appears by those benchmarks, that the dlink out performs the linksys, but you must remeber, that is just thruput. The dlink doesn't support simultaneous 2.4Ghz & 5GHz transmission, unlike the linksys-- which would be important to me if I was forking out the money for a dual band N router. Look at the features you need /want and the price.
The link in my sig will also provide access to the reviews on each router by clicking on them.
I'd go w/ the Linksys wrt600n also!! -
Fountainhead, unforuntately I do not have anywhere else to put an access point at this point in time (I will be during the winter, going to put a drop upstairs where the computers are). So, I want something that really gets the signal out there.
My father is getting pissed that our internet keeps dieing, and says he will fork over $50 for a router. He said okay to the $150 router area, so the WRT600N and the D-link are good prospects. Since the D-link does not support both bands at the same time, I believe I am going to lean towards the WRT600N. -
Trying to decide between two routers
