    Hello everyone,
    This is my first post.

I am trying to access my desktop from my laptop. My laptop is on wireless and my desktop is connected via ethernet. The desktop can easily be connected to while I ethernet in with the laptop, but on wireless, I can't seem to find it. I'm curious as to what would be causing this.

    Thanks,
    Jacob

There is a setting called "wireless isolation " on some routers. If enabled it stops wireless clients from having access to any other devices on LAN - including other wireless clients and obviously anything wired.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm at college so I can't change the router settings. If they have that, are there any workarounds or possible non-router fixes?

If wireless isolation is indeed enabled than I don't think you can get around it.
Also it is a setting that I would switch on on a campus as well for security reasons so I wouldn't be surprised if that had enabled it.
