I am attempting to use a program from DLink called Shareport Plus to allow printing wirelessly from a notebook. The printer connects to the router using a USB cord. The Shareport Plus software is installed on my computer.

I installed the program, but the printer is not being recognized.

Here is the Troubleshooting page in the manual.

I would like to eliminate the most obvious problem first.

I have an HP 1320 printer which is an older model. Could this be the issue?

The device server may not support the USB device.

Solution The device server does not support USB devices which operate using isochronous transfer. Please confirm that the connected USB device is not an isochronous device. For details on the USB device's specification, please contact its manufacturer.

If not is it likely the I could be having another issue mentioned on the link page or do they not apply to my setup?

I have been trying to see if your HP 1320 usb is isochronous, and have found very little information on the HP website searching for usb tech specs coming up zero.

The link below is some guy trying to get his HP 1500 and 1200 to work with ubuntu and isochronous is mentioned in his printer printer trouble shooting logs he posted.

So it is possible that this is your problem, I have read though the HP 1320 user guide, maybe i only got the basic version, have a look and see if you can change the usb settings on the printer from Isochronous to asynchronous if it`s even possible.

Sorry i could not help any more.

Good information. Thanks. I will pose that question in the HP forums.
