I am having some trouble opening ports on my home network. I think that the problem is with my router, I have a linksys wrt54g. I just updated the firmware and that didn't change anything. If I plug my laptop into my modem I can see that the ports I want open are open but when I go through the router they no longer are open.

Another problem could be the way that I am checking them. I am using, www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check.

I opened the ports in windows firewall and that did not help any.

You have not explained what you are trying to do. What is the goal of your opening ports? Why?

I tried turning the firewall off and that didn't work. I am not sure about the NAT filter I'll have to check when I get home.
