Hi folks, I am new to home DSL setups. Is it a good or bad idea to use this surge protector
TRAVELER - 2 AC outlets, direct plug-in surge suppressor with modem/fax surge protection
with my Westell 7500 DSL modem/router?
I leave the 7500 powered on all the time, but shutdown or hibernate the computer it is hooked up to when not in use.
I use it to protect the line (Verizon ran a direct cable from the box attached to the back of my home to my 7500) as well as the power for the 7500.
the AC power supply is rated
    Input 120 v 60 hz .3 A
    output 12v=1.0A
Ps not sure of this is relavant, but I use both wired and wirless connections.

Surge protectors are never bad idea. UPS is even better.

Thanks a lot Woofer00, I am hoping this solves my connections issues also. Is this a good thread to post my DSL Hell story or should I begin a new thread?
