    Hello,
I have a Toshiba Qosmio F15-AV201 which has just came back from a "System Board Enhancement" performed at Toshiba depot. The laptop now works fine, but when I turn it on it finds a "New Hardware" - "Network Adapter" and goes to Windows Update to search for drivers, but nothing is found.
Although my wireless switch is turned on, I see there is no Wireless adapter installed. I tried to install some drivers for the "NEtwork adapter" from Toshiba support center, original CDs, restore CDs, Intel website, with no success. The drivers are installed, but I still have a question mark on "Network Adapter" and the wireless connection is never listed on "Network Connections". I tried to delete it and then a "Wireless adapter 220BG" is recognized, but always with the yellow question mark and the wireless always down. Could you please give me some advice? Do you think the wireless adapter was broken when the system board enhancement was done? I do not live in the US, so I will probably have to buy an external wi-fi adapter (PCMCIA or USB) if the internal one does not work... Thank you.

I reinstalled these drivers, following the link provided, but I still get the same message after the installation is done:

Intel PROSet/Wireless Software was unable to detect a supported wireless adapter. Please install a supported adapter.

The wireless switch is on. Does that message mean that Toshiba broke my wireless adapter when the System Board Enhancement was done? Any advice on fixing that? Thank you very much

I'd ask them what wireless card they installed in your laptop. Probably not one of their standard ones.

Is seems to be the Intel 2200BG. The "Network Adapter" sometimes is recognized as Wireless Adapter Intel 2200 BG, but always with the yellow question mark and without working.
I went to Intel's website and downloaded the newest drivers, with no success. I have also downloaded a software provided by Intel in order to recognize the adapter installed in my computer, but it could not find any adapter. The wireless switch is always on, as is the wireless led.
    Any other ideas, please?

Get a new card from Toshiba.

Yes, maybe the way to go, but..... Two big problems: I live in South America and the wireless adapter is integrated in the motherboard, in my laptop (Qosmio F15-AV201). Is there anyway to try to fix it by myself (maybe a bad connection?)?

Here's a disassembly for your model Toshiba.

It looks like your wireless card is a mini PCI card.

Thank you very much. Do you think it could be a bad connection between the wireless card and the motherboard? If not, maybe it is not worthy disassembling the laptop (I am not an expert on that) and I should buy another wi-fi card....
