So, every so often, the wifi does not connect to my house router. Other times, its a non issue. So, I initialize the repair option when doing a right click on the wireless computer icon on the bottom right corner of the screen, and the OS will repair the intel wireless card. Can I ask, why there is a connection problem at times? What layer of the OSI is being repaired?

    Thanks

While I can't answer your question directly, I will say that out of all the mini PCI cards I've ever used, Intel 2915ABG is my least favourite one, be it in a ThinkPad, ToughBook or anything else. It's sheer garbage in my opinion.

If you have an option of switching it out for something else that will work in that CF-19, go for it.

It was garbage indeed- it wasn't until Intel 5300 that they have produced a genuinely good card.
Intel series 2 (mostly 2200 but 2915 too) were very troublesome.
