I just purchased an E3000 router. I have a WD 1.5 TB USB drive attached to it for network storage. It seems when I transfer a large file (I use teracopy) like 1.5 GB over the wireless connection it will time out. The result is I lose the internet connection and I would have to repair/rebuild the wireless network. Then It works again and I connect to the drive and internet.

    Any thoughts?

Make sure your running WPA2 AES security for best performance with 11n.

I have no idea if it will improve the usb storage.

    Thanks for the advice.

I am running with G at the moment. I have no issues with getting the right transfer rates about 23 Mbps.

    I have the latest firmware.
    I run with WPA2 AES/TKIP as well.

I will wait and see with any further Firmware upgrades I guess.

    Problem solved!

Live chat with Cisco. The issue was WMM was enabled. Disabled it and Poof... problem gone.

Also using Teracopy... getting 24.5-25.5 Mbps (using G-mode) as compared to the windows transfer rates of 19-21 Mbps.

    Thanks.

Good to hear it was a simple fix.
