    Hi,

I’m looking for a New ADSL2+ router to replace my iinet F1PI241EGau – Belkin which we have used for 3 years or so now.

I want wireless “N” as well as MUCH better logging. Specifically I want to be able to see how much download per IP address through the router. Ultimate would be graphs and breakdown of websites or traffic type per IP address and automatic email if a certain IP downloads over a certain amount within a certain period….

I don’t need VOIP although of course it’s nice to have “in case” – I have used VOIP but gave up on it as it’s way too flakey.

The logging on the F1PI241EGau – Belkin is useless - basically none (unless I am missing something – please feel free to point me somewhere if there is logging I can enable).

I like the look of the new Belkin N1 based on it’s ability to log downloads and it has N wireless…however I’ve read it’s not very good – wireless N range is pretty low and interface is a bit clunky and doesn’t offer some key features (latest PC User magazine gave it 75%)

I would like something with excellent logging, wireless N, 4 port router, ADSL2+ and VOIP would be nice but not vital to sale – so basically an “upgrade” to the F1PI241EGau – Belkin. I’ve used Billion’s before and have always found them excellent.

    Kind regards

    Lee

get a real router and then do some SNMP logging for real traffic watching/graphing

or get a linksys with a modded firmware :D

Get a Netgear router and use Microsoft Network Monitor application to check the network activities.

The Belkin is pretty real. Does a great job with everything - except traffic logging. Any recommendations?

I have not used the firmware myself, however to monitor by IP I would look into a router that supports SMNP for monitoring that type of stuff.

as for support, you would have to research it.
