CF was a little slow, so I switched to Quad9.

The DNS Benchmark for me has 9.9.9.9 as the slowest in my customized list.

    Cached or un-cached?
I prefer un-cached result always, since it gives worst case scenario.

It all depends on your ISP servers relative to where these third part servers are located. So it’s not a one size fits all. Level3 (largest internet backbone provider for many ISPs) usually is fastest for quite a few people though not all, because some ISPs actually use level3 servers for their DNS. Level3 has a global reach and is huge so your ISP’s DNS could very well be Level3 based especially if on Verizon /Comcast/CenturyLink.

    CenturyLink recently bought out Level3.
