I've checked a couple of the topics around, but I want concrete names, to have them set in stone. Also I read that 7260AC is not that great. So, are there any good AC cards in existence, or a heavy modding should be involved (wiring an M2 slot)? Leave the whitelisting alone, I just want names/models.

Intel 7260 turned out to be fine. It had very poor drivers to begin with and constant issues with 2.4GHz band (5GHz band worked fine all the time).
Unlike in the case of Intel 6230, Intel managed to fix things and with more recent drivers Intel 7260 is a good card. I've been using one for quite some time now, and I'm a power user (100mbps Internet connection, two NASes, network drives mounted locally straight from the server and so on) and it's all being done on a notebook using 7260 - it's really OK. No problems whatsoever for months.

Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. Does it mean it really is the only mPCIe AC card? Also, how's the Bluetooth part?

There's also one card based on Broadcom chip, other than that mPCIe is dead. As for BT, I can't say anything as I don't use it at all.

Yeah I know that it's dead, hence this thread, for the people using older PCs, but looking for last upgrade. I'm planing on building a NAS and I hate wires, so was looking for the available options :)

All I can say is my top speed is around 44MB/s over 802.11ac Wi-Fi connected to a TP-Link Archer C7 v1.
This however is only achievable via ftp - samba is much slower. The reason is the NAS, not the card itself, so 7260 should do fine for you too as long as you build a good NAS - my NASes are too weak as it turns out.
