I'm one of the many having issues copying files from a Vista laptop to an XP desktop and vice versa. I can get on the Internet just fine. I can see the computers and each one can explore the other's files with no problems at all but even tonight I tried to copy a 3 MB file and it just sat there.

Sometimes I'm getting the "Calculating Time Remaining" box that just hangs. Sometimes the files show up on the other computer even though this box is just stuck on the Vista computer.

Occasionally, I'll get a network unavailable message, which I've read about others having this issue too even though the network is showing it's right there just waiting for some action.

I've tried disabling Windows auto-tuning, Windows Defender and applied hotfix SRX1060791285. No change.

Anything else left for me to try?

Have u installed Service Pack 1 RC?

It solves this famous (infamous) problem with Vista.

Yes, Vista SP1 will solve the issue.
