Dunno if it's been discussed before... but...

This seems like an extreme waste of money. I mean, really extreme. The box claims you can reduce ping by more than 10%, increase network throughput, etc etc... Really minor improvements at a high price- sorry to keep going on and on but I was flabbergasted. I stood in the aisle and just held the box in my hands like I had just watched a nuclear test. I could not believe it when I saw it. A NIC with 64mb of DDR. It has a cooling fan and heatsinks. I'd like to hear some opinions of this thing, because I can't feel feelings anymore.

So you want to use a Gigabit card to run at ~1.5mbps DSL. In most cases when you do a direct connect to the modem you reduce ping times. It most to impossiable to have the same routing every time you reconnect to a game server. It will not get full gigabit speeds on a pci slot due to buss restrictions. Now it has a nice 400mhz cpu and ram, so it's off loaded from the main cpu. But it is useless due to the restrictions on the pci buss.
The Intel 1000Pro PCIx card will probably beat it. -
that is as much as my desktop is worth!!!

LOL it'll be great for LAN gaming. That's about it : D

Its been reviewed (google it) and found to provide small performance increases, but nothing near justifying the cost.
-
Correct it has been reviewed and not worth the cost at all.
The 'K' would have to be made of platinum or something to justify that cost.
