    Hi,

I have just got the Cingular 3G for my cell phone (I use LG CU500 but have
a spare Samsung A707 Sync). How do I tether on a laptop with XP?
Do I need some sort of software installed? I have a bluetooth 2.0 EDR dongle but I don't know how to tether.

    Thanks.

Yes, you need software to tether your phone to your PC. I suggest reading the manual for your phone(s), and then purchasing the necessary software and cables.

you usually can tether without any thing extra. you simply need the drivers for your phone. you need to setup a bluetooth connection and set it to a dun connection. then put in the number supplied by cingular to dial out on. its really pretty simple

You always need to have a data plan if you plan on tethering to your phone. (usually 40 to 50 bucks more a month).
