So my landlord recently switched to Telus optic and we have one of their combined modem/router thingies now....
I was using a Linksys E2000 router before and I'm wondering what I should do now. I WANTED to use DD-WRT with my router, but i'm not sure how to accomplish this now.
Basically, I want my router to handle all the wireless work and I want its QoS, DHCP settings, etc. to work as intended(meaning that I don't want any of the settings in the Telus router to override my router).
this is probably quite trivial, but I'm not a networking guy. I'm trying to learn more about how all this work and I don't want to make a stupid mistake.
ps, how is DD-WRT on the E2000?

You want to set the telus to run in bridge mode, and then setup your router to use something like pppoe to connect to the internet. Haven't used a E2000 w dd-wrt so can't really comment.

Sxooter is right. Depending on your modem, you might have to set it in bridge mode manually or it will do it for you as soon as you connect a router set in ppope mode.
