    Hello,
I have the Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. It has an empty mini Pci-e slot and I decided to add an internal TV tuner. But I don't know what I should do with the antenna.
My older laptop (Aspire 5652WLMi) which has a integrated avermedia tv tuner has a mysterious tv connector in the back side and came with this adapter.

I would like you to inform me how is this connector (the small one) called in order to search for an similar connector for my new laptop.

The only thing I found so far is that it is a 6mm Micro Male Coax Plug to Standard 10mm TV Coax Female Adapter Cable

to add an external antena to a mini pci-e tv tuner card your notebook has to have that connector which your Apire 5652WLMi have otherwise you can't connect an antenna.
the connector adapter is just a micro coax to standard coax. external antenas use micro coax or standard coax. it's just an adapter.

To get the antenna to work on an internal tv card on the 5920, you will have to buy a wire antenna and run it through the screen.

    That depends on your area.

For example, where I live, unless you have cable or sky, the digital reception is absolutely terrible. I had a TV card connected to my desktop, no matter what I tried I couldn't get a reception, the best I had was 2 channels. That was even using a roof mounted external aerial.

You would have to investigate the signal in your area, and see whether it would be worth it. If not, you could always buy an expresscard TV Tuner with and aerial socket on it and mount a far better aerial.

it really depends where you want to use. I suppose bangert is talking about UK.
I live in Portugal and I get a good reception, even with a small external antenna. no roof or cable.
