Anyone has the same problem as me? I cannot connect with my WGR614 or WGR101 anymore.

I noticed that "Applying location profile settings" would take a long time and then fail. It started happening recently and I dare say my woes started after I installed WinDVD ver 7B 27.0115. I have rolled back to older Acronis images (was on PowerDVD then) and it only took a few seconds to connect but I'm at a complete loss as to why WinDVD7 should now cause this problem. I have even rolled back to older versions of ZoneAlarm Pro (5.5 etc) but still no luck. BTW on wired ethernet, there does not seem to be any problem. Netstumbler or indeed even IBM's Access Connection reports seeing my SSID's on scanning - it's just the actual connecting that fails. I have even disabled WPA-PSK on the WGR101 but to no avail.

Is there a known issue with WinDVD7B & T42's? Help!

There's a known issue with Access Connections and just about everything. I've had it stop working properly whenever I attempted updating the WiFi drivers... In the end I gave up and stayed with the stock driver, but it still wouldn't work, so I stuck with the Windows built-in wireless manager.

Yes - use Windows built in wireless control. I use that with my Intel PRO WLAN card, and I have never had any problems with it.

OK FWIW, I have reinstalled WinXP from the ground up and gradually worked it out - the T42 seems Ok and even works with the WinDVD7 and ZoneAlarm 6.6.0667. The best driver for the IntelPro2200BG seems to be the official IBM 9.0.2.31. Very stable and is not dropping connection at all - just transferred over 8GB of stuff at a steady 54Mbps on the WGR614, which however had to be enabled in "G" mode only. So I am not sure how I got this problem before but now my WinXP is clean (made 5-6 images in the process to roll back in case the WiFi would get stuck). The WGR101 is fine with the T42 as well as a D-Link D624 and Linksys WAG54G. Heck, even Bootvis reports a booting time of 19.9 secs!

My point is, the bottom line would be to take a stab at reinstalling everything from the ground up before deciding whether we need to have the IntelPro2200 replaced. I tried a generic IntelPro2200mini-PCI card and not only is the T42 one smaller, but upon booting, the other card returns a message about an incompatible card being present and halts the boot up.
