I'm pretty good with computers and my laptopwhen it comes to switching to wireless. But my friend's computer is giving me some trouble. She needs to doan assignment and we're at Virginia Tech (we're everything is wired).

She has a Acer laptop with Windows XP Professional and the ethernet cable is plugged into the network box on the wall and into her computer. However, I am not sure where to go to switch from wireless to wired.

Can someone please hlp? I aplogize for being so bland.

It should just do it automatically.

    Try opening up a browser.

If it doesn't work, then go to network connections and make sure nothing is disabled (except the wireless since your wired).

It can have both active at the same time. The easiest way is to use the keyboard key to turn on/off, the wireless. Most mfg have it. If not go to network connections and disable the wireless.
