If I do some fast multiple browser window surfing, doing the forward and back arrows at a fast pace, only looking at screens for a second or so she will show a "page not available" window.
The tray network icon will show as connected with the globe but will not respond to mouse pointer or clicking.
The HDD light indicates constant reading.
Doing a ctrl+alt+delete, task manager will come up but the "Network" tab will not open showing up as a solid all gray box indicating to me the networking system is locked or bogged down.
Once I select the network tab it's all over. I cannot select another tab. I can ctrl+alt+delete again and get another but....manger screen but.
If I sit several minutes things respond, like the pop-up for the network tray icon I held the pointer over several minutes ago.
I have looked in the task manager "processes" to see what I could end but....
It's faster to just reboot. If I slow my browsing up a bit it will not happen. But fast to & fro ebay live auction bid update stuff will cause the above.

Other than this the dv6000t is a screamer with no other complaints. I use a Linksys wrt54g. Secured Personal-WPA2-AES.

Sounds like it's have a caching problem with the pages. Disk access indicates its using HD cache and not ram. But if the router is a v5+ it will have problems due to very little ram (2mb) and a weak cpu, non linux firmware. The last v7 I was on had all kinds of problem. THE GL version is the only Linksys that is any good.

    Thanks,
I have an early WRT54G Version 2.O. I have the latest available firmware but I had not thought to blame the router.
I know these older 54G's are sought after by the folks whom like to flash them with after market firmware. Perhaps I may need to do this.
You have any tip on that?

You will get a lot better performace with the ww-drt firmware. Hold on to that v2 it's one of the best ever made. Sisco has killed the linksys name by penny pinching the hardware & firmware on the Linksys line.

    blue68f100,

I have searched for the ww-drt firmware and believe I found the site but I'm not sure what file to get. I am not new to flashing but do not speak the language of the site.
    What file do I target?

    Go here:

    http://www.hyperwrt.org/Downloads.shtml

Download the firmware for WRT54G. Enter your router's config page, navigate to update firmware, select the file you downloaded, then flash. After the firmware has been loaded, do a hard reset on your router. (Make sure you write down any specific router settings - they will be lost after the hard reset and must be reapplied.
