    Sudden loss of adapter/zero wireless

    So all of a sudden, the wireless stopped on my notebook. Now there is absolutely no trace of the wireless adapter, no available connections, and everything related to the wireless seems to be gone. Any idea about what gives? Thanks in advance!

    have you updated your os or drivers lately?

    have you been playing with the bios? ocing, modding?

    have you been digging unscrewing etc. lately?

    If there is no trace of the Wireless Adapter then it either needs drivers or it's defective and just died. Go to Device Manager and look under the Network section, if it's not there install the latest drivers for the card by going to the computer manufacturers website. If the card shows up in Device Manager I would get the latest drivers first, save it somewhere and Uninstall the Adapter from Device Manager, reboot the machine and re-install it's drivers.

    If your network adapter isn't listed in the device manager (unknown hardware or the specific card), drivers won't do any good. Check your bios and make sure the card is enabled. If it is enabled, and the OS doesn't see it, shut down and take the card out and reinstall. If it still doesn't show up, the card might be bad. If your laptop is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer.
