I think I have my wireless all setup correctly now.

I am using the buffalo HP-G54

    http://shop4.outpost.com/{ThVY7jyv9...lbdBIWh2g**.node1?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I have it in AP mode and connected thru my exsisting wired network router. I use a 15mb/s down 2mb/s up Fiber Optic ISP.

AES encription, SSID broadcast off. I get full signal strenth and am very close to the AP but my D/L is only about 3.5mb/s down vs the 15 I get wired.

I know there is alot of overhead in wirless but isnt that abit low still for a G network with a super strong/close signal? (MIMO too)

Thats not really the strange part tho, in speed test I was getting 4-5mb/s up speed!!!?? thats faster than what my ISP even gives me. So I am rather confused. How can I have a faster upload and a slower download?

3.5 mbps is low, if your units is 3.5MB/sec its inline with wireless speeds.

Most sites only send a few packets to determine speed. Which means most, if not all, was cached. Speakeasy.com is the best site I have found for testing speeds. Go to cablenut.com and download their optmixer and optional pack. Then select the settings which best match your setup. See if that helps. If your using XP make sure you have a resent restore point, Even though it can restore your current settings.
