Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help me out at all. Here's my problem:

I'm on a network with 3 other people. We are all connected to a router via ethernet. After a certain amount of time (say, 3-4 hours), I'm unable to get any web pages to load and I can't even repair the connection (It just hangs at "renewing IP address"). What is strange however is that my transfers in Azereus (bittorrent client) stay going, even when I can't load a simple web page  .

I have ZoneAlarm turned off for now, and have never had the Windows Firewall on, so I can't see any conflict there. I don't think it's a problem with the router, due to the fact this problem only happens with me, and that the net works fine when I reboot the computer.

I know my way around the OS (XP Pro SP2 btw), so I'll be able to handle any fixes anybody can think of.

I don't think there's any other information that's relevant here

    Thanks in advance :D

Just because it is still downloading files does not necessary mean at that moment, unless you have confirmed that the file is getting larger. If you are acquiring IP you are not connected. It's possiable for your nic to over heat and drop out, even at the router. If you have not try a different port.

Make sure your drivers are up todate.

Have you tried shutting down BT and see if the problem clears?

Sounds like the DHCP server in your router is locking. Does this happen to the other computers on the network?

It doesn't seem to happen to anyone else on the network, no, which is why I assume it might be a problem at my end.

Re: BT, data is actually getting downloaded, the speed fluctuates, etc as per normal. Only the little NAT symbol goes from a normal healthy green colour, to a yellow (I assume means 'moderate' or 'strict'?)

BTW, here's the ipconfig/all results. I'll post up the results of it when it goes all dodgy again (which I'm sure it will do...)

Or you could try going to your router's lease obtaining tab and setting it so it never expires or atleast for a long time.It look like your lease will exspire after a day or so.
