Greetings...New to Wireless, Notebooks, and this forum...Take it easy on my...K?
Purchased an ACER 5630 (Vista) Had no trouple connecting to my Wireless Network (Desktop PC running XP Pro). However, there are anywhere from 12 to 25 Wi-Fi networks listed and it seldom connects to my network. Is there anyway to force the Acer to connect to my network exclusivly? My network is secured with WPA the neighbourhood networks are not secure.

Welcome Bernie. Good question.
What are you using to connect to your wireless network? Intel ProSet or Wndows Zero? You can set a default network in each one, the steps are slightly different.
Generally, if you right click on the network you want in the list of available networks you'll get a popup menu. If there's no option there to set it as default, go into the properties and you should be able to set it as default there. -

If you are using MS zero config, there is a advanced options that Says Connect to non-preferred Networks. This need to be un-checked.
If it's vista I have no idea on where the settings are. But If MS is pushing security in Vista, they haven't a clue on what they are doing if the defaults it allow all.
Security is proven over time. So expect Major problems. Just because they say it is the best ever, look out. That is what they said about XP and look what that got us.
