Sony Vaio Bluetooth help!!!!!!!

Hey all, new member here. I really need some help. I have a sony vaio the model is VGN-FE550G. I was trying to get the bluetooth to connect to my phone, it was unable to detect it. So I did some research and found a couple sites that all seemed to say the same thing. That was to download the Bluetooth monitor 2 and the SP2 and to uninstall the toshiba bluetooth stack and install the new one. Well, tried that and it didn't work. I don't know what the deal was. So I went to Best Buy to the geek squad and they told me that I needed to install the update from the sony site and it would work. Although the guy didn't seem to know a lot about connecting the computer to the phone but he said that the original bluetooth software in the laptop wasn't really made to connect to phones or pda's. Well, now I just tried that and during the install a screen pops up during the driver install, that says to plug in the bluetooth device and click ok. I don't know what to do here. I clicked cancel and it sayed installation finished. Now I try to open up bluetooth and that same screen pops up, with the bluetooth driver install screen. I don't know where to go to get this figured out, I know I have seen some people talk about a bluetooth switch? I don't think my laptop has a switch. Anyone that can help or tell me where to go would be greatly appreciated. Please please help I need this asap for my business. Thanks
