So I decided to try my VPN on my T-Mobile LTE

This is a lot faster than I expected. T-Mobile throttles all video to 1.5Mbps but using my VPN, I'd get the full speed all the time.

That's pretty blistering fast considering the overhead of OpenVPN ECC.

Here it is, same server, no VPN.

Sure, you've over-ridden T-Mobile's video throttling, but you'll burn your data plan very quickly if its not unlimited.

They are launching a 70 dollar unlimited plan with unlimited tethering at 512kbps and video throttled to 1.5Mbps tomorrow with the option to pay 25 dollars more a month and get unlimited HD video passes (you have to activate them every day though) and unlimited 4G LTE tethering. Deprioritizing occurs at 26GB.

My current plan is 65 a month for 6GB with up to the full 6GB availa for tethering plus rollover up to 20GB. I hardly ever use data but for 5 bucks, it seems like it might be worth it, especially since my phone uses way more battery on wifi than LTE.

What's your phone? Its usually should be the other way with LTE using more battery than Wi-Fi..

It's an HTC 10. There's a bug that makes some configurations have pretty lousy standby time with wifi on. If I'm on LTE I have seen 7 hours of screen on time. On wifi I average 5 1/2 which to be fair is stellar for HTC but knowing on LTE I can get so much more... Yeah. Plus T-Mobile has a pretty fast network here. I went downtown on Sunday and pulled 85Mbps down and 13 up.

I just ran a speed test using the same server.

    Comcast - 179.36/24.38 10ms (pay for 150/20)
    T-Mobile - 60.45/16.59 37ms

Peak time is usually around 35 here on T-Mobile. It's no Comcast but it's fast enough.

For some reason attachments aren't working and I'm too lazy to post the screenshots elsewhere and link back lol.

I use this, then just remove the last bit of the code to get rid of the ad

you can attach multiple images at once and have the code for all of them, just make sure you select the code for images not thumbnails

So I switched my plan... VPN.ac - 1440p. Native T-Mobile is 720p which is still higher than advertised.

Yeah the throttle monster kicked in. 480p unless I'm on my VPN in which case 1440p uses a ton of data for no real quality increase but without my VPN sometimes it throttles to the point that it stutters even on 480p.
