So I bought me one Upgrading from my RT-56u only had it a month. But its was the most stable router I`ve had in awhile is the RT-N66u as stable as it?

What are your thoughts on this router?

Also How well does Tomato run? I haven't ran Tomato since my Netgear 3500L
Is Tomato as stable as the Stock firmware? The reason Why I want tomato is the Traffic Graphs and QOS. I will have about 25-30 devices connected at a time, and about 5 of them are constantly using bandwidth.

Or would something a little cheaper be better? Theres a ton of good reviews but theres also a few bad

    Hi

I bought a ASUS RT-N66U about four weeks ago. I changed from a Netgear DG834GT which kept dropping network and internet at least twice a day. Although it had done quite a few years service.

The ASUS has been spot on, hasn't dropped once since install, bearing in mind that I have two HD IP camera's constantly streaming and I now have fibre optic broadband and am constantly uploading/downloading/torrents. Normally have up to twelve devices connected. There is a torrent client with the router which is okay but prefer to use utorrent as my PC is on 24/7 anyway.

Can't help you with tomato. There are traffic graphs and QOS in the routers settings although I'm not sure whether they would fulfill your needs.

I updated to latest ASUS firmware before I installed it.

As for signal, even on 5G it reaches areas that the Netgear didn't. I can now stream movies to a far upper room. On 2.4G I get 100% signal in a room directly above.

I read the reviews too but I am very happy with the ASUS, must say it fulfills my needs perfectly.
