I just recently bought a Dell Studio 1555 laptop running 64 bit Vista with an Intel Wifi Link 5300 wireless card. For some reason, my download speed is very unstable, sometimes at a normal 4 to 6 Mbps but mostly hovering at less than 1 mbps while my uploading speed is completely fine/normal. My access point is a Cisco AP 1200 with the latest IOS. I use 8.02.11b radio. I have tried installing, reinstalling, deleting etc. my wireless drivers. As of now, I have the latest Intel driver but still have a slow connection. I read other forums and other people said that their firewall or McAfee Virus Scan would slow their connection but I tried disabling/unistall both and nothing changed. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
