I have a Toshiba A105 which I have owned for about 2 months. I am very pleased with it's performance except for the fact that when I try to use wireless internet while on battery power it is EXTREMELY slow. The connection and surfing is quite fast when on A/C power, both when using ethernet and wireless....and equally fast with battery power and ethernet. BUT when trying to use battery and wireless (the reason to have a laptop!) it is excruciatingly slow. Any ideas?

Try updating the drivers and disabling the power-saving options in device manager

Yea I will try to see if there are any power saving things turned on, but I still can't understand how it could affect Internet. Did you try testing the battery settings while stationary in the same place as if you were plugged in?

Also check your router settings. Make sure your router is set not only for 802.11b, but for all 802.11 settings. Make sure the transmission rate is not limited down to 1-2mb. (this is all based from my linksys wrt54g router menu).

In the advanced tabs of my wireless card there's a power saver option and it significantly slowed my wireless connection when I had it turned on while running in battery mode.
