Ok I bought an Inspiron 1520 with an intel pro wireless 4965 AGN Wireless Card. When I first got the card I had download speeds of 3.6mbs and upload speeds of 600 kbs. Now when I run the test I get 1mbs download and a 400kbs upload. I have a Belkin N1 Wireless Router and when I click on the select a connection it says it has excellent signal strength and a 144mb speed. I dont know how to make the connection faster because every time I try to change the 20mhz bandwith to 20/40 or 40 the router with stop broadcasting its signal. I hope this isnt to hard to comprehend; any help to speed my internet up greatly appreciated. Also is there anyway to know if its using the wireless n band to make sure im taking advantage of its capabilities.

im sure its nothing to be concerned about.....the site you were using to "check the speed" of your line may have been lagged

speed tests are rather irrelevant seeing as how you will rarely ever achieve your full bandwidth unless you have some kind of purely dedicated line
