This is so weird. It just started today. It doesn't matter which browser I use, IE, FF, or Chrome (Chrome being my main), the browsing speed sometimes takes forever to load a site. Sometimes, it wouldn't load at all, forcing me to refresh the page.

But when I download something using an external program, I get 500kbs (my max is 1mbs) and the browser would still lag.

I did a spyware search and nothing was found. I used hijackthis and nothing suspicious.

Could it be something with my router? I didn't do anything that would change it.

    Any ideas?

^^ Yeah, could be something to do with your Settings..

Have you access to another computer to see if it's the same.

Probably your ISP's DNS. Try using OpenDNS by changing your network adapters DNS to:

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

Okay, I used the OpenDNS. Let's see how it goes from there.

    Thanks for the help.

Nope, it still doesn't load sometimes.

My room mate told me he has the same problem. What can be done with the router? Any ideas?

Check your MTU Numbers. What you describe is similar to a MTU set to high, some pages load and some don't. Most are all set to auto (1500). DSL requires 1492, so you may want to try lowering the setting and see if that helps.

I think my router might be broken. I'll have to contact Rogers later today...
