    I have an Acer 3680

    I recently formatted from Vista to XP and lost functionality of my in-built WiFi adapter. The WiFi switch on the front of the Notebook does not work anymore.

    I have visited the Acer website and downloaded the following drivers;

    Atheros - Installs the driver fine, Atheros device appears in list but 'Cannot Start Device'
    Intel Chipset - Does not work
    Broadcom - Does not work

    Does anyone know what I can do to restore functionality to my WiFi?

    Make sure that you reinstall any hotkey drivers, otherwise, most notebooks tend to default to a hardware locked wireless off (really, you should make sure to reinstall all drivers in whatever order Acer recommends).

    make sure you download the specific drivers for the exact model of your wireless etc, otherwise it may not work properly.. or at all.

    I use PCWizard

    http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

    This will tell you everything you wanted to know about your laptop.
    Once you verify the wireless chip, make sure that it is enabled in bios and install the drivers. GL
