Hello, I have a thinkpad T60 with vista on it, and a sierra wireless Aircard 580 PCMCIA card. However, whenever I open the watcher program to connect to the network, I get the following message, "You must upgrade your modem to use this software. Consult your technical support." I looked on the Sierra Wireless site and found no mention of this error. I also looked on google and came up with nothing. I am using the newest driver/software package on their site for vista. I would try an older one if I could find it. When I try to install the XP version I have, it won't do it because it doesn't support Vista...
    The software version is 3.4.0.9
    Any ideas?

Well, I solved the problem, so I'll post the solution in case anyone has a similar problem.

Basically, the card was a version of the Aircard 580 that was too old to use the watcher software with. However when installing the software, the driver worked fine.
So In order to connect to the network, I had to set up a new connection in Vista. I selected broadband, then dial-up. I then entered the appropriate info for my card, which consisted of the dial up number, username and password. For me and my provider, which was ACS, the number was #777 and the username was the 10 digit phone number of the card @acsalaska.net and then the password was the 10 digit number.
