I have set up my WiFi network, containing one WiFi router, my notebook and one PC. I have set all the security options in the WiFi router like WPA, MAC filtering etc.

Now I don't know if I should set the same security in my notebook and PC? These also contain the WiFi, so anybody can connect to my notebook now? Or is securing the access point enough to secure all the computers in the network?

    Thank you,
    Petr

Thanks, so it means that my notebook gets the same security as is set in my router? So if anybody will try to connect directly to my notebook instead to the router, my notebook will resist the same as the router?

Well, you should use a software firewall and that should be good enough in addition to your secured network.

If you disable your wireless in your notebook, their is no need to setup security. But if you have a wireless router you will enjoy the freedom. I would suggest setting your notebook up to connect to your own system. Change the advanced settings so it only will connect to AP's, NO AD-HOC. If not the best security would be to turn off the router's radio. Make it a wired only router. Ad-hoc can be very dangerous in public. It use to be one of the highest and most effective way to infect pc with virus.
