I just ordered the Lenovo T61 laptop. In looking for some router advice, I noticed some posts about problems or slowness with the WiFi Link 496SAGN. Not understanding a D**N thing about this  I'd like some opinion on adding the Wireless Personal Area Network UltraWide Band (UWB). It's not too late to change the order.

I just went through hours of researching what wireless card to order with my t61 and decided that I wasn't smart enough to figure it out. Since I do not have need to connect to a draft-n, and I don't plan on buying one, anytime soon, I went with the standard abg card. I was also fearful of compatibility issues with 3 routers and 5 other computers.

Seeing that you purchased the 3 year service, I think getting the draft-n card is probably right for you. (i take things apart for sport), I didn't find much of a speed issue to worry about. Most people seem to think the intel card works just fine and if there is an issue it is the router at the other end.

The ubw is even harder to figure out. Thankfully I ordered a 14" t61 and didn't have that problem because it is only available on the 15". My advice is that if you hate to plug in wires, or if you currently have a wireless usb device, get it. Otherwise, I don't see a good reason.

    Nice configuration, enjoy it
