does anyone know how to share a internet connection by wifi using vista and a sierra wireless aircard 595u sprint CDMA usb card for the internet connection? i want to be able to connect my ipod touch 2g and share with another vista computer in the other room. i tried this a few months ago and i tried everything. so i'm not really asking for people who "think" they know how to do this but people who have had success doing this.

I think there are problems using wireless to share but here is what to try. First setup a AdHoc network between your PC's and ipod. Once working. Bring your CDMA card up and establish a connection. Make sure you have ICS tuned on, then share your connection. Then select the wireless and create a bridge, this will connect the internet to the other port. This should work. But I do not run Vista so I can't help you with the finer details.

Thanks for replying but as i was saying i am familiar with how it is supposed to work I'm looking for someone who has got it to work and what was the trick. I don't think it's possible with the cdma wireless for some reason.

I wouldn't snub blue's advice - he probably knows more about wireless setups he's never seen than most people who have seen them.

Second, as you're so familiar with how it's "supposed to work," perhaps you could provide us all with a step-by-step of what you did - that way, until the elusive I've-done-it-too person shows up, you might get some useful diagnostic help in the meantime.

    Are you serious. Never mind.
In general i know how to google and follow instructions pertaining to adhoc/creating your own hotspot. As stated in my OP i was trying to save time and space with people giving instructions on how to do this who haven't actually done this with this particular setup and instead i've only received a response that completely ignored the OP which i politely thanked him for his response.

I havn't even attempted to solve this problem in months, i had spent several days trying to figure it out and i didn't want to spend another second "trying" . I came back here looking to see if anyone as had any success doing this.

Quite serious; however, if you prefer to be a purist, it's your thread, just do us all a favor and don't start doing something annoying like "bump"-ing the thread just because no-one else whose done what you're trying to do has come along, read the thread, and decided to make a gift to you of their time, effort, and valuable experience, ok?
