    Sharing internet connection?

    I was reading about windows 10 being able to download updates and stuff for other computers, here goes the stupid question... can i share my internet connection with my mother 300km away? she has basically dial up and cannot do anything.

    There is real way for you to benefit from this Windows feature. WUDO may be used to share updates with other computers on your local network or over Internet but you are not on the same LAN as your mother and her Internet connection is the bottleneck so it wouldn't be helpful in any way.

    Microsoft does not state clearly for how long the updates are cached (they say "short period of time"). If they kept the cache for a day or two you could possibly use it to update just before you go to visit your mother and then connect the notebook to her LAN. The problem with that theory is that Windows 10 updates are installed automatically, not when you want to, so you would have no control over when the "short period of time" starts.
