Would like some help with this, have 32 bit XP prof on my desktop and 64 bit Vista on my tablet. The tablet shows up on the desktop but I cannot access it, and the desktop does not show up on the tablet, looked around and installed some hotfix for the XP comp but it did not do anything....

    Thanks

There are tons of posts on XP-Vista sharing. It might take an hour or so, but if you take some time and review the posts on this forum, you'll find plenty of recommendations to follow.

Are both computers under the same workgroup?

Do you have service pack 1 installed?

Have you tried pinging each other for connectivity?

Do you have a firewall installed?

Here's a start...for .Vista to see XP you'll need THIS. Download and install it on the XP Machine.

Enable File and Printer sharing on both computers.
If you don't know how...do a quick google search!

EDIT: When I see the Vista Computer on the XP desktop, I do not have permission or something like that.... don't know if that helps

Simply replace the machine name with the IP address of it.

If the PC is 192.168.1.12, and you want to map to a share called "MYFILES", you would put the share name as \\192.168.1.12\MYFILES
