I'm having a problem with sharing files wireless from my desktop pc. Well on the desktop, I choose the folder I wanna share I go to properties, then sharing, and share this folder on the network. The wireless notebook, does not show any files shared in the my network places. Any suggestions?

well with WINXP you have to drag it
(copy) into the shared folder (in my computer)

    Usually: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents

Then check your firewall settings in the security tab of the control panel

Then just connect to your computer using \\nameofcomputer

    and it should be there.

    Hope this helps.

XP Pro has a option for simple file sharing. I think this need to be un checked.

Both computers have to be in the same workgroup, too.

The files you want to share have to be in the shared documents folder. You may also have to change file sharing on the files you drag in. And in order to use them on the notebook, you should check to make sure that sharing is enabled on the files you drag in. I think, if you save directly to the shared documents folder, sharing is automatically enabled. But if you saved it to my documents or the desktop, sharing is not automatically enabled and may not change simply by dragging to the shared documents folder.

Workgroups must be the same as previous mentioned. The image you posted are network share that you have connected to in the past. Try adding a network share and see if you can mount it that way. Use the IP address it will be easier unless you have a simple PC name. XP pro handles it differently than home.

Use add a network place wizard, then enter IP where you enter server name. You can get the IP by looking at port status -> support. If you can not get it to mount, look closely at the pc settings. Other wise it should up.
