I don't know if any of you have had experience setting up VoIP, but I've been messing with this AT&T CallVantage thing for way too long, and I could really use some help. I can't very well call their tech support because my cell phone gets pretty terrible reception, which is why I'm trying to set up VoIP. Right now I'm directly plugged into the telephone adapter (TA), which is connected to the dsl modem. Eventually, I want to add my wireless router to the mix, but after futzing with that for a few hours, I figured it would be good to try to get this simpler setup working first.

AT&T isn't even recognizing that I'm plugged into the VoIP adapter. I've disabled various firewalls and messed with just about every setting. I'm happy to provide more information, but I'll leave it here for the moment and see if anyone knows anything about this.

    Thanks

    Okay, how about this one...

Anyone with VoIP... if I set it up as they suggest, with the VoIP box between my router and modem, will I have to allow the VoIP box to assign IP addresses, or can I set it to a bridge mode of some sort and just let my router continue doing it? I'm more familiar with my router and its settings, and it's already set up the way I want...

    Thanks
