i have recently purchased the dell vostro system 1500 with following specs

    core2duo 1.4 ghz process
    2GB Ram
    8600M GT card
    intel pro wireless 3945ABG
    OS Installed: Microsoft windows professional

i have also bought the netgear WGR614 router. i connect to internet via

    ADSL modem (UTSTARCOM).

i have made my desktop configured with modem and router and i can surf

    the net.

i have installed the latest driver on the laptop but it detects the netgear

router but says unable to join netgear.

i tried all different stuff but couldnt make the laptop detect router. any idea

    how to do it?

Does it see the wireless signal? Does it connect to it but you can't access the internet? Does it not connect to it at all?

I would say try resetting the router, either by turning it off then on, or by using the reset button on it.
