My school has 2 wifi networks, one for older devices that don't support the encryption on the faster one.

My Vista notebook, however, favors the slow network over the fast one, so I always have to manually connect to the faster network.

Is it possible to get a priority of connections? Some buildings the fast network isn't installed, so I have to connect to the old one... so I don't want it to be completely manual... I just want it to prefer the faster network if it's available.

Is it possible to set priority of which network to connect to?

If you're using the default Windows manager for wireless networks, right-click on your Wireless Connection's icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks." There should be an option in that window somewhere to "Select the Preferred Order of Networks."

Ah, oops. I was operating off XP. Sorry. In Vista, you should go to Control Panel, "Network and Sharing Center" and then "Manage Wireless Connections" on the left. Then you should be able to move your preferred networks up and down.
