Folks, On my 7500 I have numerous custom settings, (ports forwarded, firewall on, SSID hidden etc.)
I have often been told to push the rest button on the modem so I lose all the settings.
    http://192.168.1.1/htmlV/adv_advanced_menuMain.asp

On this page (advanced) there is a an option to save config. file.
If I do this prior to hitting reset can I reload the custom settings by choosing the option to load config. file?
    Thanks Josea

Thanks for the reply, I am fairly new at this but have had to try to learn as much as possible due to continuing DSL issues. I am disappointed that the Verizon Tech's don't suggest using this feature.

I had saved my config file per the op post. I recently had to reset the modem but when I try to load configuration file from the router web page (westell 7500) I get error 7.
Lucky I had everying written down so no big deal.
One other question what is more secure tKIP or AES or Both ( I have 3 options)
    Thanks, Josea

AES only. TKIP is basically WPA while AES is WPA2. Using WPA2 AES+TKIP is a kind of a fallback mode.
Note: This is oversimplified but pretty exact so please don’t correct me on technicalities.
