I am trying to create a small network using an Acer Aspire One Atom, a netgear router, and desktop pc.
I have attached all the cables and all devices are listed in all "my network places" on both computers as well as "attached devices" on the router. All are configured for DHCP and router is set as DHCP server, locally.
I would like to share the "3G", dial-up, (ppp), AT&T internet connection on the Acer with the desktop. Acer seems to receive new IP each time dial-up connection is made, and recognizes it's own IP as default gateway. When pinging from desktop to Acer the router says "destination is unreachable", and directories cannot be found to explore Acer's drives. Permissions have been set to share files, firewalls disabled, and used network wizard to share the connection with other computers on the LAN.

What settings might cause this conflict? How can I make the IPs configure and communicate each time the Acer is connected to the internet and the LAN so that I can browse the web using the desktop and the Acer's satellite connection?
