My new Ultrabook is accessing the web via wifi very slowly. Even when directly in front of the router, I cant get past 5.000 kb/s (with 50.000 possible that I get with LAN cable).

What might be problem? And the possible solutions?

    - I own a Fritzbox 7360 SL router with 50.000 kb/s connection
    - Samsung has built in a Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 in myUltrabook Samsung Notebook Serie 5 Ultra 530U3C A0B (up to 300 MBit/s theoretically)
    - Connection speed does not exceed 11 MBit/s
    - Samsung Auto Update and Intel website say the driver is up to date (version 15.5.7, dated 30.01.2013)

    Find some screenshots attached!

    Thanks for your help!

    How is the router configured?

    Maybe it's set to 802.11b.

It's set to 802.11n+g+b -- and another device gets 50 MBit over Wifi.

If all devices support "n" set it to "n only".
Make sure that you use WPA2 + AES and that WMM is enabled.

Also make sure Bluetooth is off- that is/was a known problem with Dell 6230 cards that the throughput would suffer if BT was enabled. I don't know if it was Dell specific or card specific.

Well, I can only set it to 802.11n+g and security to WPA+WPA2. It does not change anything though. Bluetooth was switched off already.

Last two things I can think of- make sure that there's no power-saving set for the Wi-Fi (in Windows power-profile details) and check what happens if you use a different channel on the router (use inSSIDer to choose the best channel considering neighboring networks' locations)

My Samsung Series 5 Ultra has been little more than a paper weight when it comes to Wi-Fi connectivity. I have tried everything including sending it back for service. Everytime it works for a little while and then craps out. I have never seen anything like it. Today I did another Windows 8 Update and it started working again. We will see.

I have the same problem. Pages start to load and then 'freeze'. Doing a refresh will usually correct but it can take 3 or 4 goes to get a complete page. This does NOT happen with other laptops connected to the same WiFi.
I even tried adding another WiFi device via USB and get the same problem, which suggests it is software related.
Any experiences or tips welcome, it's a nice laptop, but not a lot of use without WiFi.
N.B. I also tried LAN connection, this worked fine!?
