I have a router with 3 pc connected. I installed Linux (Ubuntu 6.10) on mine and each time that I switch from winxp to linux and try to open internet all 3 computers lose connection with internet.

I called my internet company and they said that the problem was my router, saying also that the router makes no distinction between os.

It sounds like Ubuntu is not pulling the required info from the router, DNS and Gateway.

yeah... that makes no sense. the only thing I can think of is that you're not using the correct security settings and the router goes into some kind of lockdown or something. but even then I doubt that is the problem.

maybe try a different router if you can?
