    Running cable and need switch

    Extending network over to my apartment. It will be about 325 feet. I was told it needs a switch to boost the signal since it is so long. What kind of switch do I need to look for.Thanks in advance. :)

    Well the 325 feet is about the limit of cat 5. A switch should work, a hub would not.

    But if the switch would have to be somewhere in the middle, not on one end.

    You can use CAT5e cable and you don't need a switch/rotuer/whatever
