i have multiple computer running on my network. mac and pc.

will running Torrent (uTorrent) affect system stability of other system?

for example, person A runs a torrent/limewire and person's B computer becomes slightly less stable or disctracted/more busy from all the network activity and thus compromising on system stability/reliability?

    thanks

If person B's computer becomes less stable showing the busy cursor while trying to accomplish network tasks then yes it is a possibility that uTorrent might be at fault here; and sucking up all the bandwidth.

I don't used uTorrent, but I really haven't noticed any problem like this. The worst problem is just slowing down the internet connection for all computers on the network by using up so much bandwidth. That was an easy fix though by limiting download and upload speeds for the torrents to make it almost unnoticeable for anyone just web browsing and not downloading anything. But I really don't see how what you are asking is even possible.

    thanks for the reply :)

i'm just wondering if it is possible that they are able to..

    crash the firewall perhaps?

or any application that is able to share files (over the network)... like itunes (which streams the media over the network using bonjour).

Limiting Upload speed is key. It seems to slow things down much more than download usage. But on the downside, it auto caps your download speed as well depending how much of a limit you put on upload.
